Planning at machine speed
Battlefields are dynamic. A plan that was optimal minutes ago can be obsolete as conditions, threats and objectives shift. Human planners are excellent at judgement but limited in speed; they cannot continuously re-optimise complex plans in real time. Autonomous mission planning uses AI to do exactly that โ constantly re-evaluating options as the situation evolves, and presenting commanders with updated courses of action. Crucially, it augments commanders rather than replacing them, handling the computational heavy lifting so humans can focus on judgement.

Keeping humans in command
The goal is never to remove human judgement from consequential decisions. It is to give commanders better options faster, and the transparency to understand why the system recommends what it does. Trust is earned through explainability and reliability, not asserted. A planning system that cannot justify its recommendations will not, and should not, be trusted with important decisions.
