What C4ISR actually means
C4ISR stands for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance. Individually these are technical disciplines; together they form the nervous system of the modern battlefield — the infrastructure that turns raw data into decisive action. A tank, a fighter or a warship is only as effective as the information network that tells it where to look, what to target and when to move. Modern conflict is won less by individual platforms and more by how well information flows between them.
